Perth & Kinross Voluntary Services logo

PKAVS is a Perth & Kinross charity with four key areas of work – Carers Services, Youth Services, Community Engagement and Community Initiatives. (www.pkavs.org.uk)

Voluntary Action Perthshire is the community engagement department of PKAVS. We provide FREE services to voluntary organisations and community groups such as help with finding funds, information and advice about legal issues, charitable status and other ways to set up groups, facilitating networking, running events, exchanging best practice. We also provide training at a small fee - legal issues, OSCR compliance, presentation skills, lone working, committee skills are all examples of the types of training provided. We also provide support for volunteers and opportunities across Perth & Kinross for those who want to volunteer. We help organisations to recruit volunteers.

Additionally my role is to represent the voluntary sector at Community Planning - a partnership with the local authority and others to develop improved service delivery. The Voluntary Sector is a huge resource within Perth & Kinross and their views are held in high regard. It is my job to harness those views and take a collective response to the Community Planning Partnership to influence their decision making in the way services should be delivered.

Our new community portal and website is now live – www.vaperthshire.org and we welcome new visitors.

If you feel there is anything we can help you with please do not hesitate to contact me George.Millar@pkavs.org.uk or 01738 452209
