10th
July 2008
It is with regret that Graham had
to stop walking in the Pyrenees when he scalded his right
foot with boiling water. After seeing medical assistance he
returned home on Tuesday 8th July. He had travelled from Irun
on the Atlantic coast to Candanchu some 130 miles.
He is very grateful for all the support and good wishes from
everyone and promises to complete the walk during 2009.
30th June 2008
Graham
left Scotland on June 24th and began walking on Wednesday25th,
he is accompanied for the first two weeks by Marilyn Lamont.
By Thursday 26th they had reached the hills and spent the
first night camping in a massive thunderstorm. They report,
though, that they coped well, are very upbeat and getting
fitter by the day. The weather is a bit misty but when it
clears the scenery is beautiful. They had covered approximately
100 kilometers by Sunday 30th so are well on target.
It
is not too late to sponsor Graham. All money raised is to be
donated to the Kinross-shire Day Centre. You can donate the easy

Local
man Graham Ramsay has generously offered to undertake a sponsored
walk across the Spanish Pyrenes - a total of 502 miles in
aid of the Kinross-shire Day Centre.
Graham
is making all the arrangements himself and will be joined
for parts of the walk by various friends from Kinross and
further afield.
Graham
will walk the famoust GR 11 which is part of the extensive
GR footpath network of paths, tracks and trails running through
the Spanish Pyrenees. It is physically challenging and Graham
is having to put in a great deal of training.
Commencing
on 24th June, Graham is planning to take 62 days, with only
4 days without walking, returning on 25th August.
Further
information about the route can be found by searching for
GR11 in any internet search engine.
You
can encourage Graham and help the work of the Kinross-shire
Day Centre by sponsoring the walk.

Hopefully
Graham, with the help of technology, will be able to send
us regular updates of his progress, and maybe some photographs.
