The purpose of the Community Council is to promote the well-being
of the community residents in the area; to initiate and co-ordinate social
activity in the community; help and encourage projects for the benefits
of the residents; to ascertain, liaise and express to the local authority,
and to public authorities, the views of that community in relation to matters
of which these authorities are responsible and to take such action as appears
in the interest for that community.
The Community Council, which is non-party in politics and non-sectarian
in religion, represents Milnathort and its surrounding area. It is a democratically
elected body, made up of eight members of the local community (from a range
of different backgrounds and with diverse experience).
The Community Council meets on the second Thursday of the month, either
in Milnathort Town Hall or the Primary School. Confirmation of location
appears in the Kinross Newsletter or here.
These meetings are open to all members of the community, and everyone is
encouraged to give their views on local issues and/or ask questions. Our
Perth & Kinross Councillor, Mr. W. Robertson is usually in attendance,
as is a representative from Tayside Police.
