The Kinross-shire Partnership is a member of the Perth and Kinross Rural Partnership which exists to promote rural development.

The Partnership consists of six or seven directors and approximately twenty "members". Members can be other groups established in Kinross-shire or representatives of such groups. Projects or initiatives are regularly undertaken in partnership with relavent groups or organisations. i.e. The Better Place to Live Fair was a joint project of the Kinross Community Council and the Kinross-shire Partnership.

The Partnership and the Community Council again linked up to develop the web site, www.kinross.cc to promote tourism and new business in the Kinross-shire area.

Due to the dissolution of the PerthshireTourist Board and the launch of VisitScotland the Kinross-shire Tourist Committee has become a sub-committee of the Kinross-shire Partnership. The intention is for the sub-committee to operate independently, but with the Chairman being a director of the Kinross-shire Partnership Board.
